Winter Poetry

Winter Poetry

With the cold of Winter still upon us, I thought I’d share some works of poetry from the author P.M. Gower.

Winter Is

Winter is

The taste of a chilled night upon the nose

Snowball fights and snow castles

The smell of hot cocoa and peppermint

Mixed with a warm fire and a good book

Snow days and daytime TV

Homework delayed for the day

Holidays aplenty and a new year

Furry coats, cozy boots and mittens

What is winter

A new beginning

Snowflake

Icy spindles entwined

Floating upon the air

Glorious conceptions

Ecstasy’s vision

Perhaps

Imprisoned in the glint

Of a snowflake

These two, and Robert Frost’s “Stopping By The Woods on A Snowy Evening” always make me want to snuggle down under a blanket with some cocoa and just watch the snow fall!

    Truly, two great American poets!
